General characteristic: Chromic chloride hexahydrate is dark green crystal powder, relative density is 1.76. Melting point 83 C. Soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether. It is deliquescent. Toxic!

APPLICATION

Chromic chloride hexahydrate is used for making chromium salt, chromium plating and mordant etc. Printing and dyeing industry is used as mordant; electroplating industry is used for chromium plating; chemical industry is used for the production of other chromium salts; pigments industry is used for the production of various chromium-containing pigments; organic synthesis is used for the production of chromium catalysts, can also be used as decomposition reagents.
